T O U C H W O O D came about as a result of four musicians deciding to work together after seeing each other play while working on separate projects. The band started writing and performing in 2007, with the early gigs often featuring guest soloists.

The distinctive Touchwood sound draws from wide and varied influences - Elements of Blues, Contemporary Rock, Jazz, and Funk can all be heard, with lyrics that are accessible, sometimes personal, but always meaningful.You never know what you’re going to get next.During 2008/9 they played various Festivals across Herts, Berks, Bucks, Hampshire, Glocestershire and Suffolk, plus The Windsor Arts Centre, Watford’s Old Pump House, Slough’s West Wing and numerous other events.

In July 2009 T O U C H W O O D open the bi-annual Music on the Moor Festival to a crowd of several thousand.

The first Touchwood recordings were completed in 2009, recorded live and produced by Derik Timms, these tracks appear on the first T O U C H W O O D album which is available online or at gigs.
